The purpose of seul-dev-help is the development and presentation of help and documentation. This includes making available a help system, SEUL specific documentation, and existing documents.

What?

There are several projects underway (see below). Individuals may contribute freely to any of the existing projects, or develop their own project which contributes to the goals of seul-dev-help. Any and all additions are welcome.

How?

Task-help

Task-help is a type of help document focussed at new users (new users and those not interested in learning the details and specifics of the operating system operation.

At the moment there is a lack of documents of this type. The existing document types (HOWTOs, man, info, application-specific, etc.) are not written for new users, and are often cryptic or require a knowledge of the operating system that new users do not have.

This project is aimed at producing and collecting said documentation.

Technical documentation

Often the documentation for various components/elements of the Linux system are complicated or non-existant. The goal of this project is to collect, improve, and create technical documentation which is easier to understand and use, as well as being complete.

xhelp

The xhelp project is intended to produce a help viewer (which is NOT a web browser) which is fast, reliable, and able to view many forms of documentation, and be extendible to view ANY form of documentation.

Note that the xhelp project is currently on hold.
