Following the idea of OnionTip, i've been thinking that would be very
cool to gives some money to Tor Relays whenever we travel.

So, the idea is to setup a site "OnionTravel", that enable to buy online
flights and hotels by giving back something to the Tor Network trough
the use of Affiliate Marketing programs.

Affiliate Marketing [1] enable website owner to drive customers to a
providers's websites to buy something (services or goods), giving back a
fee (fixed or percentage of sale) to the owner of such website if the
transaction succeed (ie: the customer buy something).

If such OnionTravel website would exists, i would be happy to buy here,
knowing that i would be donating money some money back to the Tor network.

It would be possible to implement it, thanks to the Affiliate Programs
run directly by Travel company [6] , Hotel booking [7] sites or
Affiliate Marketing Company [2] .

The organization running "OnionTravel" would be paid the "Affiliate's
fee" usually every month by Wire Transfer and that money could then be
transferred to Tor Relay operators.

This kind of concept could be further improved not just for travels, but
also to provide a kickback to Tor when buying an Apple [3] or Dell or
Lenovo [5] Computer or Geek stuff at ThinkGeek [8] (that run Affiliate
programs), and tons of other good and services.

It would probably require a some software layer integration to keep
track of transparent accounting and money-flow, along with some nice web
design.

The organization managing such a site should be an NGO part of our
communities, that's trustful to operate correctly.

I've not enough spare time now to engage in a project like that, but
would like to share the idea to get feedback and maybe someone would
pick it up and try to do it.
