No doubt Snowden's documents are a mixture of real and fake material.  It would be standard practice to leave fud on the network to flush out leakers and those involved in espionage.  What Snowden knows of this is questionable.

The bottom line is that a solution must be implemented for end-to-end traffic analysis to protect hidden services.  Certainly there are questions about Tor and its devs, but the final implementation can be reviewed independently.
